Objects can not only be copied using "Copy and Paste" (select, Ctrl + c and Ctrl + v), but also through the appropriate use of the movement dialog boxes. In this way each of the copies can also have an exact position directly assigned.

To move the copy (and not the original) ...

... the box "Apply (or mirror) to copy" must be checked in all of the dialog boxes described here!

An object cannot be copied by clicking Aligning/Distributing or pressing Align on grid .

Copy any number of individual objects

All of the actions described here can be applied both to individually selected objects, as well as to a number of selected objects without these having to be grouped.

Creating a copy from the original by moving

To produce a copy of the selected object by moving (or "translationally"), please use one of the following commands:

Selection > Move…
Move… (Context menu)
Ctrl + m
Creating a copy from the original by rotating

To produce a copy of the selected object by rotating (or "rotationally"), please use one of the following commands:

Selection > Rotate
Rotate… (Context menu)
Creating a copy from the original by mirroring

To produce a copy of the selected object by mirroring (or "reflectively"), please use one of the following commands:

Selection > Mirror…
Mirror… (Context menu)
